Well it has arrived, my brand new Dell XPS M1530 Product Red Laptop. The timing from order to shipment wasn't bad,
Ordered: 5/14/08
Received: 6/3/08
Just shy of three weeks. The laptop was shipped on 6/1/08 so a two day delivery isn't bad (I didn't pay for express delivery and you shouldn't either, wait a day or two more, it won't kill you trust me!).
Now the primary purpose of this laptop is a company laptop, with most of the power needed for running my Adobe CS3 suite - Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver in particular. I wasn't sure whether I wanted the Product Red color or Tuxedo Black, but at the time there was a price break on the Product Red so there wasn't any cost difference between the two. Eventually I sided towards Product Red since my other XPS (older M1210) is black. Plus, since the company this laptop will be used for (ModernGamer.com) has red in the logo, I figured it might as well match!
After several nights of researching, comparing different models and versions and options (almost too many!), here is what I ended up choosing to build inside my Product Red M1530 Laptop:

As you can see I tried to avoid as much bloatware junk software as possible and if you are considering a Dell you should too. I'm also not a huge fan on the warranties as I can repair any problems that may arise (You can too, its called Google!).
Stay tuned for an upcoming Initial Impressions Review of my XPS M1530 and later on a BATTLE of XPS M1530 vs its older sibling the XPS M1210!
